Algeciras seeks new headquarters for Citizen Security after structural damage

The Algeciras City Council has initiated a procedure to rent a new headquarters for the Citizen Security Delegation. This move follows the detection of structural damage at the current facilities located on Regino Martínez Street, which necessitated an immediate evacuation of the building.

The council is seeking a new location between 150 and 300 square meters, specifically within the La Caridad neighborhood. Requirements for the new site include a ground-floor location with direct street access, an exterior facade with large windows, climate control, universal accessibility, and adequate electrical and emergency installations.

One potential option mentioned is the La Caridad Hub, a municipal coworking space that has been inactive since December 2024. While the tender limits the search to the La Caridad district, no specific building has been identified for the relocation.
