Alger hosts 29th International Book Fair with Saudi Arabia as guest of honor

The 29th edition of the Algiers International Book Fair (SILA) is set to open to the public on Thursday, October 29, at the Palais des expositions. The official opening ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28.

This year's event features 1,625 exhibitors representing 51 countries, with Saudi Arabia serving as the guest of honor. Spanning 46,000 square meters, the fair expects to offer more than 300,000 titles. Participating publishers include Koukou Éditions, Talsa, Tafat, and Gallimard.

In addition to browsing various literary genres, visitors can participate in book signings and meet authors. The event coincides with school holidays, potentially increasing engagement from families, students, and teachers. The previous edition in 2025 recorded over 6.2 million visitors.
