The 20th Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy, have concluded, marking a significant milestone for several participating nations. Italy finished at the top of the medal table, setting a new record with 224 medals, the first country to exceed 200 medals in a single edition.
Turkey achieved a historic performance, finishing second overall with 111 medals, including 41 gold. This achievement included Turkey reaching its 1,000th lifetime medal in the history of the games. Greece secured third place with 71 medals, representing its most successful outing in the competition's history.
