Algeria advances tourism digitalization and regional cultural ties

Algeria is prioritizing the digitalization of its tourism sector to improve administrative efficiency and attract more visitors. Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Houria Meddahi recently led a coordination meeting focused on the progress of digitizing services. The initiative aims to dematerialize procedures in both central and local services, reducing processing times for professionals and facilitating remote administrative tasks, including a dedicated platform for visa regularization dossiers.

In parallel, efforts are being made to strengthen cultural and spiritual ties between Algeria and Senegal through specialized travel services. Iman Travel Agency is promoting tourism that highlights the shared history and spiritual connections between the two nations, specifically focusing on the Tidjaniya Sufi tradition. The agency offers routes centered on historical sites, such as Ain Madhi in Algeria, which is linked to the founder of the Tidjaniya, Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Cherif.
