Algeria and Chad hold strategic ministerial meetings on energy and environment

Algerian Energy Minister Mourad Adjal chaired a meeting to establish budgetary orientations for the energy and renewable energy sector for 2027. The discussions focused on aligning the budget with strategic objectives and socioeconomic development. Key priorities include rationalizing expenditures, improving management efficiency, and directing resources toward priority projects to enhance energy security, infrastructure development, and the energy transition.

In Chad, Minister of Environment, Fisheries, and Sustainable Development Hassan Bakhit Djamous held an orientation meeting with focal points for United Nations environmental conventions and international financing mechanisms. The Minister emphasized the responsibility of these representatives to act on behalf of the state, stressing the need for rigorous reporting and consultation. He called for increased caution during international negotiations to ensure all commitments align with national interests and are coordinated with central authorities.
