Algeria and Ivory Coast advance development ties with UN, World Bank

Algeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received former UN Secretary‑General Ban Ki‑moon to discuss strengthening cooperation with the Global Institute for Green Growth. The talks covered sustainable development, renewable energy, water resources and the opening of the institute’s office in Algeria, as well as broader South‑South collaboration.

In Côte d’Ivoire, Planning Minister Dr Souleymane Diarrassouba met a World Bank delegation led by regional director Seynabou Sakho. The discussion focused on the country’s 2026‑2030 National Development Plan, which envisages investments of about 114 trillion CFA francs to accelerate industrialisation, create jobs and boost economic growth. An advisory group meeting in Abidjan will further present the plan to technical and financial partners.
