Algeria and Tunisia launch digital platforms to verify higher‑education certificates

Algeria’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced the beta launch of a national digital platform under the Cadre National des Certifications (CNC). The system aims to describe and classify university certificates by competency levels, learning outcomes and skill sets, improving transparency, aligning qualifications with labour‑market needs and facilitating international mobility.

In Tunisia, the University of Carthage put into production a digital verification platform that secures its 280 study programmes. The service provides a single legal channel for employers, public administrations and international recruiters to confirm the authenticity of diplomas in real time, helping to combat fake degrees and streamline hiring and further‑study processes. Both initiatives are part of broader digital‑transformation efforts in North‑African higher‑education systems.
