Algeria Offers Mining Expertise to Chad in New Bilateral Partnership
Algerian Minister of Mines and Mining Industries Mourad Hanifi announced that Algeria will share its institutional and technical mining expertise with Chad. The declaration was made during a meeting in Algiers where the Chadian delegation from the Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Geology, led by its officials and the Chadian ambassador, visited Algerian mining institutions.
Both sides agreed to continue exchanges, launch training programmes for Chadian engineers, and develop joint exploration projects. The visit follows recent presidential meetings that set a roadmap for cooperation in energy, mining, transport and security, and includes related initiatives such as a 40‑megawatt power plant in N'Djamena funded by Algeria and the launch of a direct Algiers‑N'Djamena flight by Air Algérie scheduled for 2025.
