Algeria reaffirms diplomatic support for Palestine

Azouz Nasri, President of the Algerian Council of the Nation, met with Palestinian Ambassador Fayez Mahmoud Abou Aïta in Algiers to discuss bilateral relations and the ongoing crisis in the Palestinian territories.

The discussions focused on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the rights of Palestinian prisoners under international humanitarian law. Nasri reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment to the Palestinian cause, emphasizing support for an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967, borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Nasri also highlighted Algeria’s previous actions within the UN Security Council regarding civilian protection and humanitarian aid. The Ambassador expressed gratitude for Algeria’s diplomatic initiatives and noted the solidarity shown by Palestinian institutions, including a blood donation gesture following recent wildfires in Algeria.
