Algeria sets printing and media rules for 2026 parliamentary elections

The Algerian Independent National Authority for Elections (ANIE) has released guidelines to ensure all electoral materials for the parliamentary elections on 2 July 2026 comply with the electoral code.

Printed items such as ballot papers, manifestos, leaflets, posters and roll‑ups must meet specific format, paper weight, mandatory mentions and deadline requirements; reimbursements are possible with at least 5 % of votes, and reduced VAT applies to some supports. Candidates are advised to use specialised printers that can verify compliance before production.

ANIE also clarified that the draw‑order number assigned to each list will serve as its official identification number and will appear on ballots and campaign posters. The same number determines the allocated airtime on public TV and radio. Candidates must submit a nominative list of participants to a designated email 48 hours before broadcast and provide an authorisation from their party or independent list, following a template supplied by ANIE.

Inspections across the wilayas are ongoing to verify the readiness of polling stations, equipment and logistical arrangements ahead of the vote.
