Algeria targets 20,000 investment projects by 2029
The Algerian government has announced an ambitious plan to realize 20,000 investment projects by 2029. This initiative is centered on a comprehensive census of available economic land across the country to unlock underutilized spaces for economic opportunity.
During a videoconference meeting led by Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb with regional governors (walis), five strategic axes were established to implement this roadmap. These pillars include completing the national census of economic land, digitizing land governance, legal sanitation and land recovery, developing land with utility connections, and strengthening intersectoral coordination.
The plan follows presidential directives aimed at stimulating investment through a national portfolio of mobilizable economic land. The meeting also addressed preparations for the 2026-2027 academic year, including school transport and canteen services.
