Algeria to launch HANOU vehicle brand by 2027

Algeria is preparing to launch a new domestic vehicle brand named HANOU in 2027. The brand will emerge from the Sokon Algeria industrial project, a joint venture with a Chinese partner located in Zana El Beida, Batna province.

The industrial complex, which spans 13.6 hectares, is designed to produce buses and trucks. The facility features three assembly lines along with specialized workshops for chassis welding and painting. The project aims to combine Sokon's production capabilities with a distinct Algerian commercial identity for the utility vehicle market.

While the launch of the first production line is scheduled for January 2027, specific technical details regarding the initial vehicle models, their specifications, and the local component integration rate have not yet been disclosed.
