Algeria's national Bac pass rate rises, Burkina's Tougo school hits 65% success

Algeria announced a national baccalaureate pass rate of 56.18% for the 2026 session, a five‑point increase from the previous year. The results highlighted a fully female top‑three podium, with Bouchra Hibat Allah Guerroumi leading at 19.26/20 in mathematics‑technical studies. The Ministry of Education praised the improvement and the strong performance of students with special needs.

In Burkina Faso's Zondoma province, the departmental lycée of Tougo recorded a 64.70% overall success rate, with 22 of 34 candidates passing. The school excelled in series A, where 11 of 12 students (91.66%) earned the diploma, while series D saw a 50% pass rate. The principal highlighted the combined effort of teachers, students, and parents in achieving these results.
