Alghero beach walkways unusable for disabled, councillors claim

Forza Italia municipal councillors in Alghero – Marco Tedde, Antonello Peru, Lina Bardino and Nina Ansini – criticised the city administration for failing to keep the beach access walkways functional. They say most walkways have become buried under sand and are no longer usable, despite earlier announcements presenting Alghero as a model of inclusion.

The councillors also highlighted large accumulations of seaweed (posidonia) up to two‑three metres high along the Maria Pia coastline and the stretch from the pine forest to Fertilia, which further obstructs beach access. They called for the immediate restoration of the walkways, better management of the posidonia, and an end to what they describe as mere propaganda about accessibility.
