Alghero Cathedral hosts concert for Catalan National Day

Nearly 500 people gathered at the Santa Maria Cathedral in Alghero for a concert commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Catalan musician Pau Casals. The event was held in celebration of the Catalan National Day.

Organized by the Alghero office of the Generalitat de Catalunya's Delegation to Italy in collaboration with the Coro Polifonico Algherese, the performance featured various soloists and ensembles under the artistic direction of Ugo Spanu and Maria Gabriella Mura. The event highlighted the historical, cultural, and linguistic ties between Alghero and Catalonia, while honoring Casals as a figure dedicated to peace and human dignity.
