Alghero faces criticism over loss of regional environmental funds
The Fratelli d’Italia party in Alghero has criticized the local administration for failing to secure regional environmental funding. While the Sardinia Region has allocated over 5.2 million euros for eco-centers and the recovery of degraded areas, Alghero was reportedly excluded from the distribution, with 3 million euros directed to Cagliari alone.
Opposition members claim the Cacciotto administration has failed to effectively manage urban hygiene and environmental programming. They noted that while previous administrations successfully secured PNRR funds for smart waste collection, the current administration is struggling with delayed contracts and a lack of necessary equipment, leading to the use of vehicles from other regions.
