Alghero politicians dispute ownership of Fertilia redevelopment project

Members of the Forza Italia group in Alghero, including counselors Tedde, Peru, Bardino, and Ansini, have challenged the Cacciotto administration regarding the redevelopment of Fertilia. They claim that the current project to recover and enhance the area is not a new initiative by the Cacciotto administration, but rather a plan originally developed, programmed, and funded by the Tedde administration in 2010.

The Forza Italia representatives noted that the 2010 pilot project involved approximately 2 million euros aimed at the touristic recovery of Fertilia’s historic buildings. This original vision included urban redevelopment, economic-commercial improvements, and the strategic use of the former cinema-theater as a potential site for the Riviera del Corallo International Film Festival and a regional film school.

Critics argue that the current administration has merely acquired a property from the Region for a symbolic price of one euro, without establishing a new vision or program, and is instead attempting to politically claim credit for a path already established by the previous center-right administration.
