Alghero rugby field management sparks political dispute

The political group Riformatori Alghero has criticized the local administration regarding the management of the municipal rugby field in Alghero. The group claims that the city's only equipped rugby facility is being treated as a private fiefdom rather than a public good.

Following a meeting on September 10 intended to establish a shared schedule between the two local clubs, Amatori Rugby and Alguer Rugby, no agreement or calendar was reached. Giovanna Caria of Riformatori Alghero stated that the lack of decision-making is “sconcertante” (disconcerting) and suggested that the delay may be due to delicate political balances or personal relationships involving members of the majority and the management of Amatori Rugby.

The group has called on the mayor to take responsibility and implement necessary administrative acts to resolve the scheduling conflict, asserting that the issue is one of principle and intellectual honesty regarding the management of public assets.
