Algiers International Film Festival launches inaugural Youth Jury

The Algiers International Film Festival (AIFF) has announced the creation of its first-ever Youth Jury for its 13th edition, scheduled to take place from December 5 to 12, 2026, in Algiers.

Following a call for applications, thirteen Algerian youths between the ages of 18 and 28 will be selected to participate actively in the competition. The jury members will review films across the festival’s three official sections: feature films, short films, and the Discovery section.

In addition to participating in deliberations to independently award the Youth Jury Grand Prix and potential special mentions, the members will contribute to the festival’s editorial content. They are expected to produce a critical journal consisting of written reviews, filmed interviews, and podcasts to be published on the official festival website. The initiative aims to integrate a new generation of cinephiles into the festival's life and provide them with professional engagement opportunities.
