Alhambra launches first complete Digital Twin for heritage conservation

The Junta de Andalucía has unveiled the Digital Twin of the Alhambra, the first complete digital replica of a World Heritage site. This technological platform utilizes artificial intelligence, simulation, and real-time data analysis to manage, conserve, and promote the Nasrid monument.

Developed under the Alhambra Living Lab project, the initiative involved the Digital Agency of Andalusia, the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife, the University of Granada, and the technology company Libelium. The project represents an investment exceeding 2.3 million euros, with 75% co-financed by European Union NextGeneration funds.

The platform has already proven its utility during a recent seismic swarm in the Granada province, allowing managers to diagnose the structural state of the monument and evaluate the efficiency of emergency plans through data-driven decision-making.
