Ali and Umar Ahmed escorted to Prayagraj funeral of brother Aban

Ali Ahmed and Umar Ahmed, the sons of noted gangster Atiq Ahmed, were granted parole and placed under heavy police protection for a journey from Jhansi district jail and Lucknow jail to Prayagraj. The brothers travelled about 400 kilometres with roughly 30 police officers accompanying Ali and additional security for Umar, following strict High Court conditions that barred media contact and public gatherings.

The escort culminated at the Kasari‑Masari cemetery in Prayagraj, where their younger brother Aban Ahmed, who died in a road accident on the Jhansi‑Kanpur highway, is to be buried. The funeral attracted many relatives and locals, while police maintained tight security throughout the procession and at the burial site.
