Aliança Catalana fields mayoral candidate in Mont‑roig del Camp and occupies former leftist venue in Berga
Aliança Catalana announced Eduard Planes Anguera as its candidate for the mayoralty of Mont‑roig del Camp (and the nearby beach town of Miami) ahead of the 2027 municipal elections. The party criticised the incumbent administration for rising security problems, public‑space degradation, fiscal pressure and a sense of abandonment among residents. Planes said, “It’s been too long that the same parties govern with the same excuses while problems keep growing; the time to say enough is now.”
In a separate move, the party took over the former independentist headquarters, Casal Panxo, in Berga after losing its previous office. The takeover was announced by party leader Sílvia Orriols, who highlighted her 10.58 % share of the vote in the 2024 Catalan elections—well above the national average. The new venue was presented as a base for upcoming municipal strategies, following confrontations during the city’s Patum festival.
