Aliança Catalana projected to surge in Catalan Parliament elections

Recent polling from the Centro de Estudios de Opinión (CEO) indicates a significant rise for Aliança Catalana in upcoming Catalan Parliament elections. The party, led by Ripoll Mayor Sílvia Orriols, is projected to grow from its current two seats to potentially over 20, positioning it to compete for second place in the legislature.

The surge is largely driven by voters migrating from other political groups. According to the barometer, 28% of Junts voters and 23% of Vox voters indicate they would choose Aliança Catalana. The party’s growth is attributed to a dual platform: criticism of pro-independence parties for failing to complete the 2017 independence process, combined with anti-immigration rhetoric.

While the party initially established strongholds in Girona and Lleida, its expansion has become geographically widespread. The CEO reports that the movement is now gaining traction in Barcelona and is beginning to penetrate Tarragona, showing a homogeneous growth pattern across the region.
