Overview

The July 2024 CEO poll projected Aliança Catalana at 24‑25 seats, confirming its surge on an anti‑immigration platform, while ERC steadied at 24‑26 seats. A standing‑order reform lowered the threshold for parliamentary groups to 3 % nationally or 10 % in constituencies, helping smaller parties retain distinct groups. ERC President Oriol Junqueras warned that a modest Aliança presence could jeopardise budget approval and later endorsed Gabriel Rufián as ERC’s lead candidate for the forthcoming general election. On 23 July 2026 Junts spokesperson Míriam Nogueras urged the government to grant Catalonia a “key to the box,” a Basque‑style fiscal arrangement that would let the region collect and manage its own taxes, criticising the state’s financing proposal as a “humiliating joke.” She appealed to PSC (19 seats) and ERC (7 seats) to use their parliamentary weight to press for a new financing system. Two GESOP polls released on 27 July 2026 projected the Socialists' Party of Catalonia (PSC) at about 25 % of the vote and 34‑37 seats, a loss of five to eight seats, while Aliança Catalana was expected to become the second‑largest force. One poll gave Aliança 26 % of the vote and roughly 41 seats shared with Vox; a second poll showed Aliança at 16.8 % and 25‑28 seats, still second‑largest and the leading secessionist force, with Vox at about 9 %. A further GESOP poll conducted between 16 and 22 July 2026 reaffirmed PSC as the largest party (34‑37 seats, ~25 % vote) and placed Aliança Catalana second with 25‑28 seats and 16.8 % of the vote, overtaking ERC (24‑27 seats, ~16 % vote). The survey highlighted Aliança’s ability to draw voters from Junts, Vox, PSC and others, noting a 94.1 % voter fidelity for Aliança and a 64.8 % loyalty rate among PSC voters.
