Alicante Urban Planning Dept. Pauses Closure of Tambora Nightclub

The Alicante City Council temporarily halted the sealing order for the outdoor venue Tambora after the operator filed an appeal against the shutdown decree issued by the Urban Planning department under councilor Antonio Peral. The decree, signed last week, required immediate cessation of activity because the club lacked a proper licence. Despite the order, Tambora kept its weekend programme open from Friday to Sunday, later cancelling a Thursday event due to a severe weather warning. Municipal technicians warned that non‑compliance could trigger police intervention and a possible charge of disobedience under article 556 of the Spanish Penal Code. As of now, council officials have not received a response from the club regarding the appeal.
