Alison dos Santos and Masai Russell set world records in Zurich

At the Diamond League meeting in Zurich, two major world records were set at the Letzigrund Stadium. Brazilian athlete Alison dos Santos established a new world record in the men’s 400m hurdles with a time of 45.80 seconds. This performance surpassed the previous record of 45.94 seconds held by Norway’s Karsten Warholm. Dos Santos finished nearly a second ahead of Warholm, who took second place with 46.69 seconds.

In the women’s competition, American Masai Russell set a new world record in the 100m hurdles, clocking 12.09 seconds. This mark broke the previous record of 12.12 seconds set by Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan in 2022. The event also featured notable performances from Italian athletes in various disciplines and saw high-level competition across the track and field program.
