Allahabad High Court Orders UPESSC to Clarify TGT English Exam Questions

The Allahabad High Court, hearing a petition filed by Aditya Kumar Singh and 17 other candidates, directed the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) to file a written affidavit within three weeks outlining its intended action on 41 disputed questions in the Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) English recruitment exam. The court also ordered the commission to respond to the remaining eight contested questions by August 17, allowing petitioners to prepare detailed objections.

The TGT exam was conducted on June 3‑4, 2026 for 4,181 teaching vacancies across Uttar Pradesh. UPESSC released an answer key on June 6, accepted challenges until June 12, and announced final results on June 30, followed by eligibility verification on July 16. The High Court scheduled a further hearing for September 1, 2026 to review the commission’s submissions.
