Overview

In late July 2026, the Uttar Pradesh Shiksha Seva Chayan Ayog (UPESSC) released final selection results for Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) recruitment across 14 subjects, covering 2,982 of 3,539 posts. Results for the English subject were withheld due to pending litigation in the Allahabad High Court. Additionally, the commission issued institute allotment lists for PGT Biology and Psychology selected candidates.

The written exam for 107 Assistant Professor (B.Ed) posts, originally slated for 19 August, has been postponed following a writ petition in the Allahabad High Court; a new date has not been set. Regarding the UPTET 2026, which saw a 93% turnout in early July, official scorecards are being prepared with final results expected in August for approximately 1.77 million candidates.

As of early August, the UPESSC has completed the scanning of OMR answer sheets for the UPTET, which was conducted from July 2–4 across 60 districts. Evaluation of the answer books is currently underway. While an official date has not been confirmed, reports suggest the final results for the approximately 1.8 million candidates may be released after August 15. To qualify, general-category candidates must secure 60 percent (90 marks) out of 150, while reserved categories (OBC, SC, ST, and EWS) require 55 percent (82 marks).

In other regions, the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) results have been declared following a revision process. The authority released a revised final answer key after verifying candidate objections regarding incorrect roll numbers.
