Alma Wiggberg and Tim Bringer win Red Bull District Ride in Groningen
The Red Bull District Ride 2026 took place on 25 July in the Grote Markt of Groningen, Netherlands, marking the return of the event after a four‑year hiatus and the debut of an official women’s slopestyle contest. Swedish rider Alma Wiggberg captured the inaugural women’s title with a total of 277 points, highlighted by a 93‑point back‑flip barspin in the Big Air sector. French rider Tim Bringer secured the men’s championship with 284.72 points, edging out Poland’s Dawid Godziek by six points. The competition formed part of the Diamond tier of the FMB World Tour and the Slopestyle Super League, raising the profile of urban mountain‑bike racing and providing a new platform for female athletes.
Wiggberg’s victory made her the first female champion of the event, while Bringer’s consistent high‑scoring runs across Dual, Park and Big Air sections earned him the men’s title. The podium for the women’s race also featured Germany’s Johanna Nussbaumer (2nd) and Poland’s Natalia Niedźwiedz (3rd). The event’s successful integration of a dedicated women’s contest is expected to boost visibility for the discipline worldwide.
