Red Bull District Ride women's slopestyle debut

The Red Bull District Ride returned to Groningen’s Grote Markt in July 2026 after a four‑year break, adding an official women’s slopestyle contest for the first time. Swedish rider Alma Wiggberg captured the inaugural women’s title, delivering a 93‑point back‑flip barspin in the Big Air sector and earning 277 points overall. The men’s championship was won by France’s Tim Bringer.

The event, part of the Diamond tier of the FMB World Tour and the Slopestyle Super League, featured a purpose‑built wooden course that transformed the historic market square. Organisers highlighted equal prize money and increased visibility for female athletes, marking a milestone for gender parity in extreme‑sports competitions. Around 20,000 spectators watched the riders navigate ramps, jumps and wall‑rides beside the 500‑year‑old Martinitoren bell tower.

The successful integration of the women’s division is expected to boost the profile of slopestyle mountain biking worldwide and set a precedent for future editions of the Red Bull District Ride.
