Almenno San Bartolomeo turns former nursery into disability housing
A protocol was signed on 14 July between the municipality of Almenno San Bartolomeo, the former Asilo Infantile Pozzi and the social cooperative “Lavorare Insieme.” The agreement converts the school building on Via Don Minzoni into a residential facility for people with disabilities. Over a 25‑year term, the cooperative will bear the renovation costs and will operate two Socio‑Sanitary Communities providing a total of 20 beds, integrated with an existing day‑care centre. Mayor Alessandro Frigeni highlighted the project’s social impact, noting it adds a new residential service for disabled residents and preserves the building’s community function. The initiative aligns with national law on “After Us” support and includes preferential access and reduced fees for local disabled citizens.
