Six suspects arrested in murder of Belgian police officer
Six Belgian nationals have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 41-year-old police officer Nordine El Talbi in Jette, Brussels. The incident occurred in the early hours of October 12-13, following an armed vehicle robbery in Tubize.
Through international judicial cooperation, authorities apprehended two suspects in Belgium and four others in France and Spain. Specifically, the Spanish Civil Guard arrested three suspects in Almería who were allegedly preparing to flee to Morocco. These individuals, who have prior criminal records related to drug trafficking, were apprehended under European arrest warrants.
The Belgian Prosecutor, Julien Moinil, praised the exceptional coordination between Belgian and Spanish law enforcement, noting that teams worked day and night to facilitate the arrests. The suspects are currently facing judicial proceedings to manage their extradition to Belgium.
