Almerimar launches marine environment protection campaign

In Almerimar, the ‘Tu playa limpia’ (Your clean beach) campaign has launched at Playa de Levante to raise awareness about the harmful effects of waste on the marine environment. Organized by Avanza en Verde in collaboration with the El Ejido City Council, the initiative includes environmental educators providing information and distributing waste collection cones to bathers.

The six-day campaign spans three locations: Playa de Levante, Playa de Poniente, and Playa de Balerma. Activities include interactive educational spaces where participants can analyze collected waste, simulate marine environments to understand ecosystem impacts, and learn proper waste classification through ‘SuperRecicladores’ sessions.

Local official Bernardo Robles emphasized that small daily actions help protect the environment and improve the city's image during the summer season. Scheduled activities include sessions at Playa de Levante on August 11 and Playa de Balerma on August 12.
