Alpha Bank Cyprus names new CFO and expands private banking leadership
Alpha Bank Cyprus announced a reinforcement of its executive committee. Penny Spiliotopoulou was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Charis Kynigou Landas continues as Chief Private Banking Officer with expanded responsibilities. The new structure is intended to accelerate the bank’s strategic plan, improve customer experience and deliver modern financial and investment solutions.
The announcement came as Cyprus saw a surge in new housing loans, with net new lending reaching €361.9 million in May 2026, driven by €145.5 million in housing loans and an average interest rate of 4.06 %. House‑sale transactions returned to growth in 2025. Aegean Airlines also resumed flights to Paphos International Airport, enhancing tourism connectivity, while the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and the Cyprus Institute of Directors signed a memorandum to promote corporate governance and business excellence.
