Alpha Bank Posts Record €943 Million Profit and Announces €519 Million Dividend

Alpha Bank said its 2025 net profit reached €943 million, and shareholders approved a €519 million dividend – 55 % of earnings and four times the payout made in 2023. CEO Vasilis Psaltis declared that the restructuring cycle that began in 2019 is now closed and the bank is entering a new growth phase focused on resilience, productivity and innovation.

The bank highlighted a series of strategic moves made over the past two years, including the acquisition of AstroBank in Cyprus, the purchase of AXIA, FlexFin, Altius, Universal Life and Alpha Trust, and a deepened partnership with UniCredit. These steps are presented as part of an integrated transformation that expands the group’s capabilities in investment banking, SME financing, insurance and wealth management.

Chairman Demetris Tsitsiragos emphasized that Greece has returned to fiscal stability but needs to shift from tourism‑driven growth to a productivity‑based model, calling for more private investment, AI‑driven efficiency and stronger institutional savings. He noted that 2026 will be the last year of full utilisation of the EU Recovery Fund, after which the economy will face challenges such as slowing growth, persistent inflation and a current‑account deficit.

Both leaders portrayed the banking sector as a catalyst for the next stage of Greek development, urging banks to channel capital into high‑value sectors and support social programmes that improve education, health and cultural access.
