Google and Meta launch competing AI agents for household and personal automation

Google and Meta have launched competing AI agents designed to automate personal and household tasks. Both services are currently in experimental stages and primarily available to users in the United States.

Google has expanded its CC agent from a single-user productivity tool into a household coordination hub. Supporting up to six members, CC uses the Gemini model and an isolated cloud environment to manage shared calendars, task lists, and meal planning. It can also perform administrative duties such as filling out permission slips and generating shopping lists. To maintain privacy, CC operates with its own verified Google account, allowing family members to set granular permissions on what data is shared.

Meta’s Muse agent focuses on individual autonomy and multi-step task execution. Muse can handle complex workflows, such as booking a restaurant, adding a calendar invite, and emailing guests from a single prompt. It integrates with various third-party services and offers different subscription tiers, including a free version and paid tiers for increased capability. Like Google’s offering, Muse requires explicit user approval before performing sensitive actions like making payments or sending emails.
