Alphen aan den Rijn Zomerspektakel draws 70,000 fans
The three‑day Zomerspektakel aan het Meer summer festival in Alphen aan den Rijn attracted roughly 70,000 visitors. Dutch singer Flemming headlined the closing night, prompting enthusiastic crowd participation, with many children chanting and holding up signs. The programme also featured acts such as DI‑RECT, Kensington, RONDÉ, Xander & Friends and 77‑year‑old local singer Humphrey Bacilio, who made his debut after reaching the semi‑finals of The Voice of Holland.
Festival organisers confirmed they have tried to secure a performance by Marco Borsato, who has never appeared on the Alphen stage, but his participation remains pending. The event continues to be a popular local attraction, with families and teenagers filling the venue and enjoying music, food and rides.
