Benelux summer festivals & activities July 2026
Entities: The Hague · ABC Festival · Zeeheldenkwartier · Doetinchem · Zeeheldenfestival
Overview
The cross‑border summer programme for families kept expanding throughout July and August 2026. In the Netherlands, cultural heritage sites continued upgrades and free music events, while new community festivals were announced. EcoFest returned to Haarlem on 14–15 August in the community garden of Stichting Ecoring, offering free admission, a youth‑focused square, vegetarian stalls and information on green initiatives, with limited free tickets for families in need. Rotterdam launched the inaugural Fiesta Futura on 13 September in Zuiderpark, presenting a free mix of brass, Balkan, cumbia and electro acts alongside a food market and open‑air dance spaces.
The Hague’s long‑running Zeeheldenfestival took place 8–11 July on Prins Hendrikplein, organized by more than 200 volunteers and remaining free for all visitors, with music, street theatre, children’s activities and local food. Doetinchem’s ABC Festival was scheduled for 4–6 September on Waterstraatplein, featuring Americana, blues and country performances by national and international artists, also free of charge.
Maritime heritage events continued in Vlaardingen and at Museumwerf Vreeswijk, and dressage competitions featured top mares and junior teams. Free concerts persisted in Deventer’s Worpplantsoen (26 July) and at De Burcht in Wassenaar (30 August, 6 September), with acts such as Mute Coverband, De Trossen Los, BombaNaranja, Explosion Rockets, Velvet Radio and the TOTO Experience Tribute Band.
Overall, the summer programme blended cultural upgrades, free music, sport and heritage activities across the Benelux region.
