Traditional alpine seasonal transitions and livestock events are scheduled across the Alpine regions for 2026. In Germany, the 'Viehscheid' in Oberstdorf is expected to feature approximately 1,000 animals returning to the valley on September 12, 2026. Local authorities have requested that visitors use public transportation to manage the crowds. Meanwhile, in Switzerland, the Bodäfahrt took place on August 18, involving 40 alpine families and roughly 1,000 decorated cows near Urnerboden.
