Alpine endurance sports prepare for upcoming cycling and skiing events
Major alpine endurance events in Italy are preparing for upcoming editions. The Ötztaler Radmarathon features a challenging cycling route starting and ending in Sölden. The course traverses four significant mountain passes: Kühtai, Brennero, Giovo, and Rombo, reaching altitudes of up to 2,474 meters at Passo Rombo. The event offers extensive live coverage, spanning 15 hours from early morning to evening.
In the realm of winter sports, the 54th edition of the Marcialonga Ski is scheduled for January 31, 2027, between Val di Fassa and Val di Fiemme. The competition will offer three distinct distances: a 70 km queen race, a 45 km light version, and a new 32 km “Just for Fun” route. General Secretary Davide Stoffie noted that the shorter distance is intended to make cross-country skiing more accessible to a broader audience.
