Alpine F1 gears up for development battle with Racing Bulls

Alpine driver Pierre Gasly warned that the team is "losing everywhere" after a slowdown in performance, particularly against the Italian‑based Racing Bulls. In the last three races Alpine collected only ten points, leaving its fifth place in the Constructors' Championship hanging by a single point over its rival.

Team principal Steve Nielsen and technical director Flavio Briatore described the situation as a "development war" that must be won to protect the team's podium‑finishing prospects. Renault CEO François Provost reinforced the message, stating that the priority is to stabilise Alpine, lay solid foundations and then aim for higher ambitions. The squad, now powered by Mercedes engines and backed by new sponsor Gucci, seeks to halt the slide and retain its fifth‑place standing while Racing Bulls, with drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad, continue to close the gap.
