Mountain rescue services respond to multiple accidents across Italy and South Tyrol

A series of mountain and outdoor accidents has prompted numerous emergency interventions across Italy and South Tyrol. In South Tyrol, an 80-year-old German tourist died after falling 50 meters from a hiking trail near Meran.

In Italy, multiple hikers and tourists required rescue. In Sardinia, a 46-year-old woman was struck by a falling rock near Cala Luna, and a Brazilian tourist was treated for a collapse in Cala Biriala. In Sicily, a 61-year-old Swedish tourist was rescued after sustaining a leg injury in Cavagrande del Cassibile. Other incidents included a 52-year-old truffle hunter found dead in Farindola and a 49-year-old man rescued from Monte Mutria.

Additional emergencies involved a 6-year-old boy critically injured after falling from a modular stage in Patti, and a 40-year-old father who fell while attempting to save his son in Vieste. Paragliders also required assistance in the Grappa and Trentino regions. Emergency services, including the CNSAS, helicopters, and local fire departments, managed these diverse operations involving falls, medical collapses, and terrain-related accidents.
