Alpine rescue teams respond to multiple hiking emergencies in Italy

Multiple mountain rescue operations were conducted across various Italian regions following hiking accidents and navigation errors.

In the Corno dell’Orso area near Fino del Monte, a group of hikers was located late at night by the Alpine and Speleological Rescue and firefighters after losing their way. They were transported to Rovetta via off-road vehicle without requiring urgent medical attention.

In the Monti del Sole region, two young women from Treviso spent a night in a tent near Col Pizon after following an inadequate online itinerary that led them onto an exposed and difficult path. They were rescued the following morning by the Agordo Alpine Rescue.

Other incidents included a 64-year-old Czech hiker who suffered an ankle injury near Montepiano in the Vicenza area, requiring stretcher transport, and a man from Sesto Calende in Valle Vigezzo who became trapped in a ravine while attempting to rescue his dog. In the latter case, Alpine Rescue and Guardia di Finanza teams successfully retrieved both the man and the animal unharmed.
