Alpine scores sixth place in Canadian GP as Colapinto shines
Alpine secured a strong result at the Canadian Grand Prix, with Argentine driver Franco Colapinto finishing sixth – his best Formula 1 finish – and teammate Pierre Gasly eighth. The team earned 12 points, raising its total to 35 in the constructors' championship and moving up to fifth overall.
Team boss Flavio Briatore praised the performance, saying the crew executed a “great strategy” and that the drivers “did an excellent job on track.” He added that Alpine “can improve a lot” ahead of the next race in Monaco, highlighting work on the car’s margin for evolution as the season progresses.
Additional comments from Alpine’s sporting director Steve Nielsen echoed the praise, noting the team’s adaptation after a difficult Friday and the beneficial tyre choices that helped the French squad secure points.
