Alpine seeks FIA review of Pierre Gasly's Monaco pit‑lane penalties

Alpine submitted a Right of Review request to the FIA after Pierre Gasly received two five‑second penalties for exceeding the pit‑lane speed limit at the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix. The penalties dropped Gasly from third place on the road to seventh in the final classification.

The FIA stewards accepted Alpine's petition as admissible and scheduled a two‑part hearing at 13:00 CEST on 11 June 2026. Alpine argues that a fault in the pit‑lane timing loops, known to the FIA and the official timekeeping supplier (FOM), caused the speed‑limit calculations to be inaccurate. Representatives from eight other teams—including McLaren, Red Bull, Ferrari, Haas and others—attended the hearing, while Mercedes chose not to participate. Gasly expressed his disappointment on Instagram, describing the loss of a podium as a “broken heart.”
