Alpine unveils electric A110 sportscar with new APP platform

Alpine, the Renault subsidiary, presented its electric version of the iconic A110 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The concept, called A110 Future, relies on a newly developed Alpine Performance Platform (APP) that houses two battery packs – a smaller 25 % unit at the front and a larger 75 % unit at the rear – using cell‑to‑pack technology and an 800‑volt architecture.

The layout allows the car to retain the classic A110 silhouette and a cabin suited to a wide range of body sizes while achieving a 40:60 front‑to‑rear weight distribution. Two rear‑mounted electric motors with hairpin stators can reach up to 21 500 rpm. Alpine aims for a total vehicle weight under 1.5 tonnes, considerably lighter than the current gasoline model, and targets at least three fast laps around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. No details on battery capacity, range or power output were disclosed.
