Alpine will not appeal FIA penalty against Franco Colapinto

Alpine has decided not to appeal the FIA penalty imposed on driver Franco Colapinto during the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. The Argentine driver received a drive-through penalty for an infraction committed under yellow flag conditions while overtaking Yuki Tsunoda.

The penalty significantly impacted Colapinto's race performance, dropping him toward the back of the grid, though he eventually finished in 14th place. In addition to the drive-through, the sanctions resulted in a loss of three points on his superlicense.

Colapinto expressed frustration with the decision, describing it as “extremely hard” and suggesting that officials should exercise more flexibility given the race conditions. Despite the driver's dissatisfaction, Alpine opted against a formal appeal, noting that the penalty was related to on-track maneuvers under yellow flags, which differs from previous pit lane speed limit disputes the team has contested.
