Alstom launches new phase of Indore Metro Yellow Line

Alstom has commenced revenue operations for the next phase of the Indore Metro Yellow Line in Madhya Pradesh, India. The project utilizes Alstom’s Movia metro trains and Urbalis Forward CBTC signaling systems to enhance urban mobility for over 6 million citizens in the Indore and Bhopal regions.

Under a contract with the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL), Alstom is providing 52 Movia trainsets along with 15 years of comprehensive maintenance services. This includes seven years of maintenance for signaling, train control, and telecommunication systems.

In alignment with the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, the rolling stock, digital solutions, and lifecycle management services are fully designed, manufactured, and delivered within India. The Yellow Line features a 31.5-kilometer stretch, with a 16.72-kilometer section currently in operation across 16 stations.
