Altay Bayindir loan move to Celta Vigo confirmed
Celta Vigo have confirmed interest in taking Turkish international goalkeeper Altay Bayindir on a season‑long loan from Manchester United. The 28‑year‑old, who joined United from Fenerbahçe in 2023 for €5 million, has made only 17 competitive appearances for the English club, serving mainly as backup to Andre Onana and later Karl Darlow.
Manchester United have indicated a preference to sell Bayindir rather than loan him, hoping to recoup part of their investment. Celta Vigo president Marian Mouriño said the club expects to finalize the deal soon, while Bayindir has said he is waiting to see how the situation develops. The move would give the goalkeeper regular La Liga playing time, which he has not received at United.
If completed, the loan would see Bayindir replace the current Celta Vigo goalkeeping options for the 2026‑27 season, pending agreement on the remaining year of his United contract.
