Altroconsumo develops nutritional scoring for nut spreads

Altroconsumo has developed a unique scoring system to evaluate the composition of nut-based spreads. This independent assessment is based on scientific evidence and utilizes an algorithm that analyzes nutritional values and ingredient lists provided on product labels.

The evaluation process places 55% of its weight on nutritional assessment, drawing inspiration from the Nutri-score method used in France and other European Union countries. The system penalizes high levels of calories, sugar, salt, and saturated fats, while rewarding products with higher content of fiber, proteins, fruit, vegetables, and legumes.
